Southern Oklahoma Poverty Summit: Survival to Stability

The 2026 Southern Oklahoma Poverty Summit, held in Ardmore on April 1st, featured the "Cost of Poverty Experience" simulation to educate participants on surviving poverty. 

This is a 3-part event.

Session 1: 8:30-11:30: Cost of Poverty Experience (Poverty Simulation)

Step into the shoes of low-income families in our community through this powerful, immersive simulation. 

Session 2: Noon-1:00: Lunch and Learn More About Ardmore Bridges

Hear from local leaders about poverty in Southern Oklahoma and discover how Ardmore Bridges is moving people from survival to stability — and how you can help. Lunch will be available.

Session 3: 1:30-4:30: Bridges Out of Poverty Training

Explore the hidden rules that drive our decisions and learn tools and communication strategies to bridge the divides between economic groups.
