ABA Case Supervision Update

Date: 05/15/26

The Oklahoma Health Care Authority (OHCA) has approved an update to ABA supervision standards for Oklahoma Complete Health, increasing required case supervision from 5% to 10% of direct treatment hours, consistent with Council of Autism Service Providers (CASP) guidance.

This update is effective June 30, 2026.

Providers may implement the updated supervision standard earlier, at their discretion, and are encouraged to do so where feasible. This update applies to clinical oversight activities only and does not change prior authorization requirements, eligibility, EPSDT coverage, or approved treatment hours.

ABA services will continue to be authorized based on medical necessity and individual clinical need. Many providers already meet or exceed this supervision level. The update is intended to support strong clinical oversight, treatment fidelity, and high‑quality, individualized care while maintaining stable access for members.
