Oklahoma Complete Health Awards $75,000 to McCurtain County Health Department to Expand Maternal and Infant Health Services

Date: 06/10/26

Oklahoma Complete Health is partnering with the McCurtain County Health Department with a $75,000 investment to strengthen maternal and infant health support across McCurtain County. The partnership will focus on coordinating prenatal and postpartum support and helping families navigate available medical, behavioral health, and social support services. The funding will help expand services and connect families to care and resources during pregnancy and the early weeks after birth.

“This investment reflects our commitment to collaborate with local health departments to improve access to care and address health disparities in rural communities,” said Oklahoma Complete Health CEO and President Clay Franklin. “By working alongside the McCurtain County Health Department, we are supporting locally led solutions to respond to the unique needs of McCurtain County.”

Oklahoma Complete Health opened a request for proposals to improve outcomes for chronic disease, behavioral health, and maternal and infant health in rural communities. The McCurtain County Health Department will serve as the first anchor partner for the plan’s rural Health Empowerment Zone efforts. Health Empowerment Zones (HEZ) are community-led initiatives that build on existing community assessments and health improvement plans to advance locally prioritized strategies that improve health outcomes.

“We are excited for the opportunity to partner with Oklahoma Complete Health to better serve the needs of our community and improve access to services in McCurtain County,” said McCurtain County Health Department Health Planning Manager Lesa Curry.

As part of the initiative, a dedicated Pregnancy Resource Navigator will help families connect to available resources and provide ongoing follow-up before and after delivery. The navigator will serve as a consistent point of contact to help reduce barriers to care and improve continuity of support.

The initiative will include community engagement efforts to ensure services are responsive to local needs and to strengthen local capacity and partnerships that can support families beyond the life of the funding.
