Oklahoma Complete Health Connects with Foster Care and Adoption Community
Date: 05/20/25
Parents of children in foster care and those receiving adoption assistance connected with Oklahoma Complete Health CEO and President Clay Franklin and Children’s Specialty Program Vice President Nichole Burland during a recent virtual event to answer questions about the benefits available to Children’s Specialty Program members.
The Foster Care and Adoptive Association of Oklahoma (FCAO) virtual conversation was viewed more than 2,700 times. The event provided an opportunity for parents to hear updates from the SoonerSelect health plan and ask questions about the range of benefits available including the upgrade to over-the counter benefits, enrollment for post-adoptive families, and art and music therapy services.
“Oklahoma Complete Health’s Children’s Specialty Program is the only SoonerSelect health plan specifically designed to support parents and families in foster care, pre-adoption and post adoption,” said Oklahoma Complete Health President and CEO Clay Franklin. “We are committed to partner with our members, providers and community supporters to transform the lives of our fellow Oklahomans.”
The value-added services provided to Children’s Specialty Program members are making an impact in addressing social needs. Here are some highlights:
- Foster care and adoption assistance families have accessed My Health Pays reward dollars, totaling more than $295,000.
- The plan has provided more than 3,200 meals for new foster families.
- Students at risk of failing one or more core subjects have used more than 11,500 hours of the tutoring benefit.
“Foster families were able to get answers to questions and help with accessing benefits at today’s virtual event," said FCAO Executive Director Sarah Herrian. "We are appreciative of Oklahoma Complete Health team for being such a valuable partner as we prioritize foster and adoptive families across our state."
