Oklahoma Complete Health to Fund Health Empowerment Zone projects in Adair and McCurtain Counties

Date: 07/31/25

Oklahoma Complete Health is investing in the development of Health Empowerment Zones in Adair and McCurtain counties. This initiative will unite local stakeholders to address the root causes of health disparities through coordinated, community-led strategies.

Oklahoma Complete Health is opening a Request for Proposals (RFP) on August 1 that will close on August 29 at 5 p.m. Proposals should outline a community-focused, locally driven approach, with a clear plan to engage local partners in improving outcomes related to chronic disease, behavioral health, and maternal and infant health.

The selected contractor will collaborate with community organizations to support Oklahoma Complete Health’s mission to improve the lives of Oklahomans by building an innovative system of care that addresses both medical and non-medical drivers of health.

Each county is eligible for a one-time funding award of up to $75,000. Funded projects must span at least 18 months and may last up to three years. The contract to launch the Health Empowerment Zones is expected to begin in early November.

Proposal guidelines and the application form are available on the Oklahoma Complete Health website.

All applications must be submitted through the designated form. For more information about the Health Empowerment Zone RFP, please visit https://www.oklahomacompletehealth.com/about-us/-health-empowerment-zone-.html.
